The KAP Film and Television Academy, in partnership with Mastercard Foundation through its Young Africa Works strategy, has developed the KAP Learning App, an e-Learning programme, to bridge the skills gap between the thousands of young people who want a career in film and television and the dearth of experienced personnel within the industry.
The KAP Learning App provides you with access to interactive learning content, industry professionals/experts, community forums, an e-library, a job board, financial support, contacts, links, and so much more!
Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy of enabling young people across Africa with access to dignified work, particularly women, is supporting the KAP Learning App by ensuring that fees are affordable and by providing full time scholarships to outstanding individuals.
The KAP E-Learning programme has 3 tiers of learning:
A virtual series covering several aspects of film-making such as directing, cinematography, script development, production and the business of film using the filmography of the acclaimed films: “The Figurine” and “October 1” directed by Kunle Afolayan as case studies.
An 8-week digital course where students get an introduction to the film-making process, getting a foundation in all stages of film-making, from development to distribution.
An 8-week blended course consisting of a 4-week digital course where students select the area of film-making they would like to specialize in and a 4-week internship course where students serve as interns in a production company.
